Iran Green Film Festival announces winners

Tehran, Sep 16, IRNA – The 6th Iran International Green Film Festival (IIGFF6) has revealed the winners of the competition at this year’s edition starting from September 9 to 15 in Tehran and several other provinces.

Over 800 artworks have been sent to the cinema section of the 6th International Green Film Festival (IIGFF6) held September 2017.

According to the Public Relations Office of IIGFF6, more than 524 domestic and 278 foreign artworks from 43 countries were sent to the cinema section of Iran’s largest environmental cinematic event.

The US, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Canada, UK, Brazil, Germany and Russia sent the highest number of films respectively.

Meanwhile, the Iranian movies which sent to the festival’s Public Relations Office from different Iranian provinces and cities nationwide include short, feature, experimental and animation films.

The event is considered as the foremost cultural event focusing on protecting the environment in the Middle East.

The selected films competed in long fiction, short fiction, long documentary, short documentary, animations and experimental sections.

The winners are listed below:

** Animations: “Me + Her” by Joseph Oxford
** Short Fiction: 'ANIMAL' by Bahman Ark and Bahram Ark
** Long Fiction: “Leaf of Life” by Ebrahim Mokhtari
** Experimental: “We Can” by Gholamreza Yar-Khalaji
** Long Documentary: 'Plastic China' by Jiuliang Wang
** Short Documentary: “Where We Are Going?” by Reza Majlesi
** National Prize: 'Poets of Life” by Shirin Barq Navard

In the visual arts sections, the winners are:

** Illustration: Mansureh Mohammad- Hosseini
** Photography: Reza Zangeneh
** Caricature: Liu Qiang
** Graphic Design: Mohsen Heydari
** Video Art: Naghmeh Maqsoudlou
** Conceptual Arts: Maryam Palizgar
