President Rouhani: 12th gov’t set to boost ties with African states

In a meeting with the visiting Speaker of Tanzania National Assembly Job Ndugai, President Rouhani said that Iran's 12th government is determined to promote ties with friendly countries across the world, especially the African states.

Ndugai arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend Presideent Rouhani’s swearing-in ceremony on August 5.

Enhancing relations with African states such as Tanzania, Zanzibar is significant for Iran, President Rouhani stressed during his meeting with the Tanzanian parliament speaker.

He added that Iran has paid and will never pay attention to the demands of the interfering powers regarding promotion of its bilateral relations with the friendly states.

The era of meddling in other countries’ affairs and imposing one's wills on other nations is over, stressed President Rouhani.

Meanwhile, the Tanzanian parliament speaker congratulated Presiddent Rouhani’s re-election, noting that massive turnout in Iranian presidential elections has indicated high level of democracy in Iran.

He also called for boosting of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
