
Speaking to reporters in his weekly press briefing, Qasemi said during the visits by Afghan president and foreign minister to Iran the two sides discussed construction of new dams in Afghanistan.
'There are many issues between Iran and Afghanistan as neighboring states and the two sides have formed various committees to follow up unresolved issues,' he said.
During the visit between the two sides' officials, formation of five committees were ratified and one of them mainly focused on water related issues and the second round of negotiations kicked off a month ago and the second one will be held within next month in Kabul, Qasemi said.
Taking into account world climate changes and its impacts on regional water resources have urged regional countries to put water related issues on the agenda, he said.
