Iran male, female karate teams win friendship cup

Teams from Iran, Switzerland, Serbia, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan attended the event, Head of Kermanshah karate squad Nasser Mohammad Salehi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday.

The event was held in minor, junior, senior and adult ranges, he said.

In men section, Iran and Iraq ranked first and second respectively and Italy and Azerbaijan jointly ranked third.

Some 760 male and 760 female athletes participated in the competitions.

The third Kermanshah Karate Friendship Cup of Nations was held on July 11-14 at Azadi Sport Complex in Kermanshah.
