Iran snatches 2 golds in Belarus Medved 2017 wrestling competitions

Medved 2017 wrestling tournament started in Minsk, Belarus with attendance of 15 countries, including Iran.

In the 70 kg weight category, Hamid Elahiyan defeated wrestlers from Armenia, Estonia, Turkey, and Russia and in +90 kg, while Ashkan Mardani, another Iranian wrestler defeated rivals from Belarus, Georgia, and Turkey to receive the golds and stand first.

During the tournament, Komeil Qasemi, on behalf of the Iranian Wrestling Federation, granted the Pahlavani championship belt to 80-year-old Aleksandr Medved retired Soviet freestyle wrestler and Belarus Olympics champion to appreciate his efforts to promote the Pahlavani wrestling.
