Senior cleric describes massive turnout in next election as vital

It will also indicate that the Islamic Revolution is still flourishing, Tehran Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said while addressing a large number of worshipers at Tehran University campus during the first Friday Prayers congregation in the Iranian New Year, 1396.

Iranians massive participation in the election would also safeguard the Islamic Revolution, said the cleric.

Hojatoleslam Seddiqi urged the Iranian voters “to vote for those who are not influenced or supported by foreign powers or media” as these are weak points for those who run for the presidency.

The next presidential election is to be held nationwide in May.

He touched upon the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s measure for naming the New Year as the year of “Economy of Resistance, Production and Employment”, underlining that the move would frustrate enemies’ endeavors for separating the Iranian people from the Islamic Revolution through economic pressures.

He urged the Iranian authorities to pay due attention to create job for the Iranian youth and do all within their power to implement the “Economy of Resistance” policies.

He added supporting domestic production would play a key role in flourishing the country’s economy.

The cleric said that enemies of the country are seeking to convince the Iranian nation that their problems with the Islamic establishment have no solution.

“Enemies are to make the Iranians believe that the Islamic Revolution and establishment are not efficient,” said the Friday Prayers leader.
