Peace in Syria outcome of Iran-Russia cooperation

The long-awaited peace experienced by the Syrian people today has been achieved following years of attacks by the terrorists who have the backing of Western and certain Arab governments.

Undoubtedly, Iran and Russia have played a vital role in improving the growing peace and stability in Syria and defeating terrorists like the Deash (ISIS) Takfiris.

'Cooperation between Iran and Russia in addressing the Syrian issue, could be served as a good model for fostering regional cooperation,' said Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari who arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for bilateral talks and discussing recent developments in the region, with the main focus given to Syria.

Jaberi Ansari, also Iran's senior negotiator in Syria talks in Astana, said that the relations between Tehran and Moscow are very important to bring to an end the crisis in Syria.

The seventh round of Syria talks in the Kazakh capital of Astana was held on 30 and 31 of October. The meeting was attended by Iran, Syria and Turkey as three main guarantors of peace in Syria as well as representatives from the Syrian government, the opposition in the country and the United Nations and Jordan and the United States as observers.

While Tehran and Moscow remain to be committed to stabilize the situation in Syria, other parties, including the United States are throwing spanner in the works.

Now even Turkey has come to realize the true intentions of the White House.

Washington is after promoting separatism in the region and its ultimate disintegration to carry out the sinister project of creating the so-called Greater Middle East, where the geographical borders are redefined and big countries are smashed into small powerless states.

Washington's support for the separatist movement in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region was a good example and a good reason for the main players in the region to come closer to each other and cooperate further to help address the crises in the region.

That is why, the role played by Iran and Russia in the Syria peace process is considered as very significant and the urgent need for the two nations to further their cooperation to ward off sabotage by the US and its regional allies.

Even Ankara now is aware of the fact that should the US succeed realizing its goals to disintegrate the region, Turkey will be no exception. And that is why Ankara now is working more seriously alongside Iran and Russia on the peace process in Syria, playing a far more tangible role in the Astana talks.

On the other hand, according to reports by the Russian media, the United States has called for the Syria talks to take place in Geneva, instead of Astana in Kazakhstan, a suggestion implicitly showing Washington's opposition towards the regional initiative.

But the reason behind the US opposition remains to be quite clear: the US cannot accept not to be involved in resolving an important global issue like the crisis in Syria, especially when the two main players involved in the talks are Iran and Russia, i.e. the two countries standing against the US plots in the Middle East and those that are Washington's essential geopolitical rivals.

Furthermore, the US insistence to take the Syrian issue to Geneva demonstrates that the White House is after sabotaging the Syria process.

Based on the US scenario, the Syria talks will continue in Geneva, but Riyadh will try to interfere in the talks and block negotiations by preventing the Saudi-supported opposition groups who live in the Saudi Arabia.

This is tricky plot: While the US, by the rhetoric it adopts and the statements issues, seems to be an ardent supporter of the talks, secretly it will try to sabotage the process with the help from its elements in the Saudi regime to in fact, keep his military forces in Syria.

Experts believe that the US President Donald Trump is after creating more and more disputes and conflicts across the world. They argue that the White House has declared no specific Middle East strategy and the current policy it is following in the region and its support for the terrorists and warmongers, particularly those in Syria, demonstrate nothing but Washington's adventurism.
