Pakistan welcomes collapse of Daesh in Iraq, Syria

Muhammad Faisal said this while answering a question by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday. “We support that.”

Earlier Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei had congratulated the collapse of Daesh in Iraq and Syria and cautioned against the post-Daesh conspiracies.

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Major General Qasem Soleimani in a letter to Supreme Leader declared the termination of the 'corrupt tree of Daesh' and congratulated the glorious victory to the Islamic World.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Muhammad Faisal further said: 'Our statements in our efforts against Daesh are on the record, Pakistan continues to cooperate with all countries to eliminate Daesh.'

“We have special concern on the presence of Daesh just across our border on the Afghanistan side, we have also raising the fact that more than 43 percent of the Afghan soil remains ungoverned which is actually serving as a sanctuary for the terrorists and we hope full action would be taken against them,” said the spokesperson.

To another question Muhammad Faisal said Pakistan dispatched C-130 plane carrying the relief assistance for the affectees of the deadly earthquake that struck Iran on 12th November.

“The relief assistance consists of the items identified by the Iranian side in accordance with the relief requirements in the earthquake affected areas,” he said.

Muhammad Faisal noted that the aid consignment was the very first cargo transported to Iran for the earthquake affectees.
