New sanctions violate nuclear deal: Iran official

The nuclear deal known also as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) proved that 'Americans are not trustworthy' and cannot be trusted as partners, Head of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharazi said in an exclusive interview with the Austrian Wiener Zeitung daily.

'Americans violated the nuclear deal and lost their credibility,' he noted.

The official said that 'new sanctions violate the deal'.

'The nuclear deal showed that Iran is ready for talks and is committed to its obligations,' he added.

Since the implementation day of the JCPOA in January 2016, the US has repeatedly violated the deal which many world leaders, including the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini have described as an international agreement that is so beneficial and cannot be broken unilaterally.
