Iran’s parliament speaker calls for expansion of ties with Cambodia

On the sidelines of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Istanbul, in a meeting with the Second Vice President of the National Assembly of Cambodia Nguon Nhel, Ali Larijani said, “Iran intends to cooperate with Cambodia in agriculture; we invite you to Iran to hold talks on the issue.”

Larijani said, “Iran and Cambodia have good relations and we are interested to expand political and economic ties with Cambodia.”

Vice President of the National Assembly of Cambodia said that Iran's behavior strengthened the ties between the two countries, and so the parliamentary friendship group was formed to expand ties and share experiences.

Ali Larijani arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Tuesday to participate in the 10th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). He had a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and several parliament speakers from other countries.

The Asian Parliamentary Assembly was established in 2006 at the 7th session of the Association of Asian Parliamentary for Peace (AAPP). APA tries to boost cooperation among Asian countries.
