Iran: No halt to heavy water production

An advisor to head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Ali Asghar Zarean said that the Arak facility is now working with the capacity of producing 20 tons of uranium in a year.

He pointed to re-design of Arak heavy water reactor in the coming year with the cooperation of Chinese and American companies, and said that the new facility will use IR20 centrifuge machines and will be able to produce one and a half tons of plutonium annually.

Following the nuclear deal between Iran and G5+1 (the US, the UK, Russia, China and France plus Germany), Iran accepted some limitations on its nuclear program in exchange for removal of its sanctions.
