Iran, Armenia discuss boosting parliamentary cooperation

Both officials discussed role of parliaments in bilateral relations, calling for active participation of the chambers in expanding cooperation in the economic, political and cultural domains.

Stressing the need for activization of Iranian and Armenian parliamentary friendship groups as well as contact between various commissions of the two parliaments, Sajjadi said that they can play a crucial role in presenting appropriate approaches for all-out development of ties.

Babloyan, for his part, welcomed boosting cooperation between the two legislations, saying that Armenian National Assembly will play its part in promoting bilateral ties between the two countries and Iran will have a special place in the plans thereof.

Welcoming Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani's invitation to visit Tehran, he said that he will make necessary arrangements to travel to Tehran at the earliest.
