Head of AEOI cautions against penetration of Trumpism

He made the remarks in a forum held to discuss ways to access a leading status in the field of research and scientific activities.

Salehi underlined the necessity of protecting convergence in the country saying that foreign powers are waiting to see division in Iran's politics so that they can put the country's revolutionary thoughts under question.

'Trumpism is seeking to make division in sovereignty,' Salehi said adding, “They are to make division in the country through spreading the feeling of disappointment and insecurity as well as the feeling of growing corruption and injustice.'

Salehi warned different political parties to act vigilantly and take national interest into considerations during their political competitions.

Referring to Trump's policies and behaviors in the days after he took office on January 20, Salehi said, 'We will bite the bait of Trupmism if we adopt a reactive approach and act carelessly.'

Considering the opportunities made in the country after implementation of the landmark nuclear agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive plan of Action (JCPOA), the official said, using those opportunities properly would lead the country towards the most golden era in its post-Islamic Revolution history.

Iran's 'military power and its national security will reach its climax and others will be willing to have comprehensive interaction with us because the country's position has finally become known to all,' Salehi stressed.
