Divisive efforts are new plot in region: Iran speaker

Larijani who was in Turkey to attend the Asia Parliamentary Assembly (APA) made the remarks in an exclusive interview published on Thursday with Anadolu news agency (AA).

Referring to cooperation between Iran and Turkey to help Iraq safeguard its territorial integrity as a significant step, the speaker said that as soon as the Daesh terrorist group was defeated in Mosul, the issue of referendum in northern Iraq was erupted which he added 'is contrary to the Iraqi Constitution and the country's territorial integrity.'

Larijani said that the trilateral summit meeting among Iran, Turkey and Russia in Sochi was a “significant step” towards ending the six-year Syrian conflict.

Tehran, Ankara and Moscow “are now one step closer to reaching a common political solution to the issue of peace in Syria. These three countries alone will not make decisions on behalf of the Syrian people, but their efforts will ease the process.'

Larijani, however, added that this is not the end of Daesh. He predicted that after being defeated in Syria, Daesh terrorists will go to Libya, Afghanistan and other countries to continue with their bothering.

Noting that the US created Taliban one day and created Daesh another day to drain the energy of the regional countries, he said that the policy intends to help Israeli regime make use of the existing atmosphere without paying any costs.
