Assembly of Experts warns about consequences of detention of Bahrain top cleric

The brutal behavior of Bahrain’s Al-Khalifa regime against Bahraini people and Ulema (religious scholars), which is taking place with the support of the House of Saud, hurt world Muslims but it promises the oust of the oppressive regime in Bahrain, said the statement.

The Assembly of Expert urged consolidation and unity among Muslims against those which saw discord in the Islamic World and attacks the Islamic sanctities.

Participants in today’s Friday Prayers ceremony held a protest rallies nationwide including the capital city, Tehran, condemning crimes committed by the Al-Khalifa rulers against the people of Bahrain.

Demonstrators chanted slogans against the Saudi and Bahraini regimes and condemned the United States and United Kingdom for their support of those regimes.

The Bahraini security forces supported by the Saudi militia, attacked protest rally of supporters of the detained senior Bahraini cleric in the al-Deraz region on May 23.

One person died and 100 more were injured during the attack.

A Bahraini court on May 21, 2017 ordered seizure of Sheikh Issa Qassim's assets and properties and sentenced him to one year in prison.
