4.5-magnitude quake rocks western Iran

According to Seismological Center affiliated to Geophysics Institute of University of Tehran, the quake occurred at 21:5 local time (18:35 GMT).

The tremor occurred at a depth of eight km and its epicenter was registered at 34.86 degrees latitude and 45.81 degrees longitude.

No casualties or damage to properties have so far been reported.

Iran sits astride several major seismic faults, and is prone to frequent earthquakes.
