Iran's Chabahar development on RECCA agenda

The Conference also known as RECCA has brought significant achievements, including the start of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Pipeline (TAPI) and the electricity project, CASA-1000, said Ahmad Shakib Mostaghni, Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry spokesman.

Signing the Chabahar trilateral transit agreement and its progress, the railway that links Afghanistan, China, Tajikistan, Kirgizstan and Iran, as well as China's One Belt, One Road are among the top issues to be discussed in the RECCA VII, according to him.

According to Mostaghni, the Conference will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday next week (November 14 & 15) in the Turkmenistan capital, Ashgabat.

Some 25 international organizations and 30 countries have expressed readiness to attend the Conference at ministerial level, he said.

The meetings, launched in 2005 in Kabul, are aimed at boosting stability in Afghanistan and enhancing economic cooperation among south and central Asian countries.
