Six people still missing following Sunday’s seiche incident in Dayyer

According to Namdar Darvishi, Dayyer’s Deputy Governor, search is underway for retrieving bodies of the victims.

“So far, body of a forty-year-old man, entangled in fishing nets, has been retrieved,” Darvishi said on Monday.

He said that the seiche phenomenon, a standing wave in an enclosed or partially enclosed body of water, has left one dead and 17 more injured in the port city.

According to the official, 200 docked fishing boats have been damage while the seiche has also ruined parts of the infrastructure facilities, including the coast park, residential units, and shops.
