Pak health minister hopeful her Iran visit to further strengthen bilateral ties

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Saira Afzal Tarar who is going to Iran on a three-day official visit said that there is lot of scope of cooperation between Iran and Pakistan in the public health sector.

“I am leaving today for Iran and I think that my visit will more strengthen the relationship between Iran and Pakistan,” she added.

The minister went on to say that when his Excellency Minister of Health of Iran Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi was in Pakistan both sides discussed many issues regarding Pharma industry, public health sector and primary health coverage.

“I will be very busy in Iran as I am going to visit many health facilities, also I am going to Isfahan University and if they will ask me to give any lecture I will be ready,” she added.

Saira Afzal Tarar said: 'This is my first visit to Iran and I am going to have bilateral meetings also and I think that the visit will strengthen our relations and also our cooperation in public sector.'

Earlier Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost called on the minister and discussed matter of mutual interests. Both sides in the meeting agreed to further enhance cooperation between the two countries in health sector.
