Iran sympathizes with Cuba over hurricane Irma

In the message, Hashemi expressed sorrow over the losses caused by the hurricane, the Cuba's Prensa Latina reported.

Besides expressing his solidarity with the Cuban people and government, the Iranian minister expressed sympathy with the victims' bereaved families and wished that those injured would fully recover soon.
In another development, Research Director of the House of Latin America in Iran Abdolhamid Shahrabi also expressed his sorrow over the tragic event in a solidarity message to president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples Fernando Gonzalez Llort.

The Iranian official also expressed his deepest condolences to the victims' families and the Cuban government and nation, voicing adding that the people would successfully manage this situation caused by a natural disaster.

On September 8, Irma moved away from the coast of Cuba and claimed 22 lives and injured over 100 individuals.
The storm had a maximum sustained winds of 260km per hour and evacuated more than one million people.
