Iran Movies Days opens in Baku

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Torkaman said when tongue is unable to express certain conceptions, art in its various forms comes to help man. He said Iranian movies are well acclaimed worldwide with some of them finding their ways into Academy Awards or the Oscars.

Spirituality has the final say in Iranian movies, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization said.

Also addressing the audience, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Republic Javad Jahangirzadeh said that Tehran-Baku ties which have taken shape over long years are inseparable.

He said the Iran Movies Days being held in Azerbaijan Republic was another sign of deeply-rooted relations between the two countries. Fortunately, he said, Tehran-Baku relations in various cultural, economic and political fields are growing.

The Azeri minister of culture and tourism said in his address that cultural relations between the two countries have developed remarkably in recent years.

Referring to the role of Iranian filmmakers in advancing Azerbaijan cinema, Garayev said as a result of such cooperation, some Azeri movies have been awarded in several international film festival.

Four Iranian movies 'Bodyguard', 'The Sweet Taste of Fancy', 'Crazy Ball' and 'Where are My Shoes' will be screened at the four day event being held at Nezami cinema theater in Baku.
