Iran Film festival signs Int’l MoU to promote green economy

Farhad Tohidi made the remarks in a press conference on Sunday, saying that Iranian movies with environmental subjects have been successful.

'The Festival is to be held from July 22-28 in Tehran and other provinces,” he said.

“The 6th International Green Film Festival consists of different parts like fifty-minute feature films, short films, feature and short documentaries and some competitions,' he added.

“Regarding the naming of 2017 as the year of sustainable tourism, the subject would be of importance in the upcoming festival,” he said.

“All the films produced to be screened in the festival focuses on topics related to green industry and controlling pollution,” he added.

Environmental campaigns and workshops like Orumiyeh Lake campaign are scheduled to attend the event.

The “I’m Lake Urmia” hashtag is a campaign initiated in late August, 2016 by Iranian environmentalist Mohammad Khazaei. A large number of Iranians, artists in particular, supported the campaign.
